So What?
Raul Perez is a name in northwest Spain that is revered and respected. This man – a humble, thoughtful, passionate human – has taken this general section of Spain and almost single handedly brought it back into relevance by spending time with growers all over evangelizing the importance of old vine preservation and consulting on quality winemaking techniques - for some the closest they have gotten to schooling. This particular wine is from his own family’s vineyards that date back to the 1800s. Not just another Raul Perez consulting project, this is a family affair. His niece Marta is now overseeing much of the operations here now.
Tasting Notes: Haunting depth on the nose with notes of balsamic, rosemary, and violet. Dark berry fruit, black pepper, wet granite.
